BDx Begins Construction of 640MW CGK4 AI Campus in West Java

BDx Data Centers has broken ground on CGK4, or AI Campus 2, in Jatiluhur, West Java, marking the start of construction on Building 1 of a planned six-building data center campus.
The campus is planned to provide 640MW of total capacity. Building 1 is planned to deliver 120MW of IT capacity in phases, with the first contracted phase expected to enter service in early 2027. Development of the full campus is expected to run for approximately three years.
Power is a central feature of the development. BDx has secured 845MVA of grid capacity from state utility PLN, with electricity to be supplied through Indonesia’s national grid. The 845MVA grid-capacity figure and the 640MW planned data center capacity serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable measures. CGK4 forms part of BDx’s stated secured power position of more than 1.2GVA across its AI-ready campuses in Indonesia.
The proposed technical design includes direct-to-chip liquid cooling intended to support rack densities of up to 500kW per rack. This positions the campus for high-density AI infrastructure, where cooling architecture and power delivery are increasingly fundamental to deployable IT capacity.
BDx is also exploring a hydropower arrangement with PJT. However, no agreement, supply volume or delivery date has been confirmed for that arrangement. A US$320 million loan facility secured by BDx in 2026 has been cited as support for the company’s broader AI expansion in Indonesia, rather than as funding allocated solely to CGK4.
The development could strengthen the regional pipeline of AI-ready colocation capacity, but its ultimate build-out will depend on phased customer demand, the execution of the grid connection and the completion of energy-related arrangements.
